Bird of Paradise is popular for its large fan like leaves that split as they mature.

Light: Prefers a bright lighting scenario, mostly indirect, near a window or a well-lit room; anywhere that has an abundance of light throughout the day is sufficient.  Can tolerate a few hours of direct sunlight.

Water: Does not need consistent moisture but dislikes prolonged periods of dryness, so frequency of watering is dependent on how long they stay moist, best to water when the soil is at about 20-30% moisture or when top two inches of soil have dried; similar to keeping a garden consistently moist without becoming oversaturated

**TIP: Tropical plants normally live in an acidic soil, to keep the pH of your soil to your plants liking all you have to do is fill up your watering can and leave it out overnight, that way the hard water can settle at the bottom/evaporate, then water to your plants delight!
