The Jade, in particular, is known for its upright, tree-like appearance and glossy green, spoon-shaped leaves. Positioned in bright light, the leaves can develop a red hue around their edges. The  Jade plant is a  succulent with thick leaves and its stems and can store water , necessary to survive in a hot desert.
